Sheena Mathew, MA, NCC

Sheena Mathew is a master ‘s-level counselor joining Mosaic Wholeness Center in Fall 2026, working with individuals and couples who are navigating grief, identity, burnout, and the quiet but persistent ache of feeling like something important has been lost or left unresolved.

A quién ayuda

Sheena’s deepest desire is that every person she works with feels genuinely cared for: not managed, not assessed, but truly seen, heard, and known. She works primarily with teens, adults, and couples, with a particular attunement to women and to those carrying wounds from faith communities that were supposed to be safe.

Se especializa en trabajar con:

  • Individuals dealing with grief, loss, and major life transitions
  • Those experiencing anxiety, stress, burnout, and emotional exhaustion
  • Individuals exploring their life story and growing in awareness of patterns, meaning, and purpose
  • Women facing personal, relational, and spiritual challenges across different seasons of life
  • Clients working through cross-cultural identity, belonging, and adjustment
  • Second-generation and bicultural individuals navigating questions of identity and voice
  • Students and professionals seeking clarity in academic, career, or vocational transitions
  • Individuals processing church hurt, spiritual wounding, or painful ministry experiences
  • Clients seeking spiritual formation and deeper integration of faith in everyday life
  • Couples navigating relational challenges and emotional disconnection

Cómo funciona

Sheena’s approach is collaborative, holistic, and genuinely tailored to each person. She integrates evidence-based practices through a trauma-informed lens, shaping every aspect of her care and creating a space where clients can explore their stories, process difficult experiences, and move toward healing at their own pace. She brings both analytical precision and relational warmth into the room: a combination that comes naturally from a life lived between two very different professional worlds.

Su historia

Before entering the counseling field, Sheena spent years working in Information Technology and Cybersecurity. She valued the analytical thinking and problem-solving that work required, but she felt a growing pull toward something more relational: toward sitting with people in their complexity rather than solving systems. That pull eventually became a calling she could not ignore, and she left a successful career to pursue it.

As a second-generation Indian American, Sheena carries a lived understanding of navigating questions of identity, belonging, and voice across cultural boundaries. She knows what it is like to hold two worlds at once and to quietly wonder where you fully belong in either of them. That understanding shapes the empathy, curiosity, and acceptance she brings to clients exploring those same questions.

Her years in ministry settings have also given her an honest awareness of both the beauty and the brokenness that can exist within faith communities. She is especially attuned to those who have been hurt by the very communities that were supposed to offer safety, and she holds that experience with particular care. Through years of mentoring and group leadership, she has built a consistent track record of creating spaces where people feel safe enough to be honest and move toward genuine wholeness.
