Drawing from more than twenty years of pastoral ministry and clinical counseling, he helps clients make sense of the experiences that have shaped them, navigate the challenges they’re facing, and move toward healthier relationships, greater freedom, and renewed hope. Brian’s approach is relational, thoughtful, and trauma-informed, creating a space where people can be deeply known while discovering new possibilities for healing and lasting change.

A quién ayuda

Life has a way of leaving its mark on us.

Sometimes it comes through anxiety that won’t quiet down, depression that leaves you feeling numb, a relationship that’s become painful, grief that refuses to loosen its grip, or the quiet exhaustion of caring for everyone else while your own needs go unattended. Other times it’s harder to name. You simply know that you’ve been surviving for a long time, and you’re longing to feel more like yourself again.

If any part of that feels familiar, you’re not alone. These are the very challenges Brian has spent years helping people navigate. He works with adolescents, adults, couples, pastors, ministry leaders, caregivers, and helping professionals experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, shame, and questions surrounding faith or spirituality.

While every person’s story is unique, many people come to therapy longing for similar things: peace instead of constant pressure, deeper connection instead of loneliness, freedom from old patterns, healthier relationships, renewed purpose, and a greater sense of wholeness. Whether you’re navigating a specific struggle or simply know that something in your life feels off, therapy offers a space to slow down, make sense of your story, and begin moving toward the life you hope for.

Whether you come with a deep faith, a complicated faith, or no faith at all, you’ll be welcomed with curiosity, respect, and compassion.

Cómo Funciona

Brian believes healing happens in relationship.

His role isn’t to tell you who you should become or to offer quick solutions. Instead, he creates a space where you can slow down, tell the truth about your life, and begin making sense of the experiences that have shaped you.

Together, you’ll explore the stories you carry, the patterns that keep repeating, and the relationships that have influenced the way you see yourself and the world. Brian’s approach is warm, collaborative, relational, and trauma-informed, drawing from psychodynamic therapy, attachment theory, narrative therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic practices – in plain terms, helping you understand not just what you feel, but where it comes from and how to move through it.

Por qué este trabajo

For more than twenty years, Brian walked alongside people as a pastor before becoming a therapist. Through hospital rooms, marriage crises, seasons of grief, questions of faith, family conflict, and moments when life seemed to come apart, he discovered something that continues to shape his work today: people rarely change because someone gives them better advice.

They change when they experience a relationship in which they are deeply known, honestly understood, and gently invited toward something new.

That conviction led Brian into professional counseling, where he continues the work that has become one of the greatest privileges of his life: walking alongside people as they untangle the stories that have shaped them, discover new ways of relating to themselves and others, and move toward healing with courage and hope.

Educación y Capacitación

Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School

Master of Divinity, North Park Seminary

Consejero Certificado Nacional (NCC)

Level I, Narrative Focused Trauma Care Certification, Allender Center

A Little More About Brian

Outside the counseling office, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, reading, writing poetry and song lyrics, exploring Chicago’s neighborhoods and restaurants, watching and playing sports with his son, and spending time with his young daughters in a whirlwind of spontaneous hide-and-seek games and wonderful interrogations about why the sky is blue.

Ready to Take the Next Step?

Beginning therapy takes courage.
