She comes to Mosaic from Streamwood Behavioral Hospital, where she served as Clinical Coordinator for the partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs, work that placed her alongside young people and families in some of their hardest moments. She works closely with parents and, when helpful, with schools, so that progress in the therapy room carries into everyday life. Her dual training in counseling and art therapy gives her a rich set of tools for clients who do not yet have words for what they are feeling; sometimes, a drawing can say what a conversation cannot. Underneath the creativity is rigorous clinical care, including careful assessment, thoughtful treatment planning, and experience supporting young people through serious emotional crises.

Why This Work

Abby’s faith is the foundation of her calling. She believes every person is created in the image of God and deserves to be met with dignity, compassion, and grace. For her, therapy is a way of walking alongside young people and their families as they pursue healing and wholeness, creating a space where clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported. When it serves a client’s goals and reflects the family’s wishes, she thoughtfully integrates biblical principles into the counseling process.

Education and Training

MA in Counseling and MA in Art Therapy, Adler University, Chicago

BFA in Studio Art and Art History, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), State of Illinois

Registered Art Therapist, Provisional (ATR-P)

Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certified

A Little More About Abby

Abby received the Service Excellence Award at Streamwood Behavioral Hospital two years running, a reflection of how she serves both clients and colleagues.
