Zuri San Roman is a bilingual master’s-level counselor serving women, mothers, and children in the Rolling Meadows and Chicagoland area who are tired of carrying everything alone and are ready to reconnect with themselves in a healthier, more grounded way.
Who She Helps
There is a particular kind of exhaustion that comes with being the one everyone else depends on. Zuri works with women and mothers who know that feeling well, and with children who need a safe, playful space to process what words can’t yet hold.
She has a particular heart for:
- Women feeling overwhelmed, lost, or invisible in their roles as mothers or wives
- Perinatal mental health, including postpartum depression and postpartum anxiety
- Life transitions and identity shifts, especially the ones no one prepares you for
- Women longing for deeper emotional connection and relational support
- Children working through big emotions, behavioral challenges, or difficult life experiences through play therapy
Zuri offers sessions in both English and Spanish, so every client can show up fully, in the language that feels most like home.
Her Approach
Zuri’s approach is warm, relational, and grounded in both evidence-based practice and faith. She draws from person-centered therapy and integrates Christian faith principles for clients who want that dimension of care woven in. Sessions with Zuri feel less like a clinical evaluation and more like finally having someone in your corner who won’t go anywhere.
Why This Work
Women pour themselves out for everyone around them, and far too often, no one thinks to ask how they are really doing. Zuri does this work because she believes every woman deserves a space where she is fully seen, heard, and understood, not after she has it all together, but right now, as she is. That same belief shapes the way she shows up for children too, because the kids who struggle the most are often the ones who most need someone to sit with them without an agenda and simply make it safe to feel.
